God has never failed us and never will fail us. Whatever problems we may be having today, we need to just put our complete trust in Him and things will turn out alright. I was reading Psalms 109 and it made me realize that sometimes problems cause us to lose our focus and we wind up trying to direct God on how to fix our problems.
In Psalms 109, David starts crying out to God with his problems, not only that, but then he starts telling God what to do to his adversaries. In verse nine he says, “Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow. Let his children be continually vagabonds, and beg; let them seek their bread also out of their desolate places.” (KJV) David goes through this whole Psalm basically telling God he has been wronged and directing God on how to correct it. All of a sudden in verse 30 it seems as if David says, “Hey, forget this complaining, I am just going to praise God and I am glad He is with me.” He said “I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth; yea, I will praise him among the multitude. For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.” (KJV) David got back on track; focused once again. He decided to stop complaining and stop focusing on the problem and decided to focus on the answer. David decided to focus on the promises which Jesus fulfilled. Those promises are for us as believers today.
In John 16:33 we read that tribulations will come to us in this world, but Jesus reassures us by letting us know that He has overcome the world. He tells us to be “of good cheer.” What are we to do? We overcome by keeping our joy. If the devil (problems) cannot steal our joy then he cannot steal our victory. Nehemiah 8:10 tells us that the joy of the Lord is our strength.
Psalms 91:15 says, “He shall call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honor him.” (KJV) If you find yourself in trouble, just call upon the Lord Jesus. The late Pastor John Osteen of Lakewood Church in Houston used to say, “There is a miracle in your mouth!” We need to speak God’s word into our circumstance. Be inspired today knowing that “there is a miracle in your mouth!”
