A few years ago when I was studying and read the scripture in Romans 10:15, the word “beautiful” caught my attention. In prayer I told God, “Father, I do not look at my feet as being beautiful, and I know there must be others who do not think their feet are beautiful. Father, You cannot lie, so why are You saying that we have beautiful feet?” It was after prayer that I was led to look up the word beautiful in the context of Romans 10:15. The scripture says “And how shall they preach, except they be sent? As it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!’ ” (KJV) In the Greek Dictionary of the New Testament the word beautiful is “horaios” pronounced “ho-rah-yos”, and it means “belonging to the right hour or season (timely)”; flourishing. The word “horaios” comes from a primary word “hora” pronounced “ho-rah” meaning an “hour”; a day, an hour, instant, season, or high time (perfect time). Oh, Glory be to Jesus! Now I understand! Now, I can honestly say, “Thank You Lord for my beautiful feet!” Now I can say, “Oh, Father, send me to the lost, the hurting, the one who needs encouragement and I will deliver Your Word to him. Father, It will be the Word that You have for him for that problem that he has at that hour. I know we will be keeping a Divine Appointment! I pray this in the Name of Jesus, AMEN!!” In Isaiah 52:7, it says, “How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace;…” (KJV) I looked up the word “mountain” in the Hebrew Dictionary and it means “to loom up”. Wow! Have any problems “loomed up” in your life lately? Well, the one who comes to talk to you with the Word of God and the Salvation that Jesus has for you is coming to you with beautiful (timely) feet and Jesus has sent him with the solution against your mountains, the problems that loom up in your daily walk.
Look at 2Corinthians 6:2. “For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.” (KJV) Back in the 1990s, I worked in the cemetery and funeral business. One day I was talking to a gentleman who had come to Texas from Louisiana specifically to be trained in the funeral business. As I witnessed to him about Jesus he told me that he was separated from his wife. She was a Christian and had taken him to church, but he always felt like the preacher was preaching directly at him and he felt uncomfortable. He not only stopped going to church, but when he got the opportunity to come to Texas he went ahead and called it quits with his wife and little girl. Well, I showed him 2Cor. 6:2 and he got saved. I pulled out my little Bible that I carried in my coat pocket and he read the scripture and then God gave me the words to say (see Exodus 4:12). I said, “Man, your wife is probably still praying for you. She is believing that you will meet up with someone like me, someone that will tell you that Jesus died for you and wants you to go to Heaven when your life ends on the earth.” He said, “Well, I know I need to call Jesus Lord and I know He will take care of me, but I will do that on my own time, sir.” I said, “Do you think God is a liar?” He said, “Oh, no way, I know God cannot lie!” I said, “You just read that He said, Now is the day of salvation.” I told him all this with the love of God in my heart (with compassion) and he prayed the prayer of salvation. Guess what. He did not show up for work the next day. His supervisor told me he had called in the following morning and told him he was going back to Louisiana to his wife and daughter. What does that confirm to me? He came from Louisiana to Texas just to keep a “Divine Appointment” with the Holy Ghost!
Father, today as people read this message I pray that the Word will be a “timely” word to speak against their mountains. I won’t meet all of the people who read this, but I still thank You for my beautiful feet! In the Name of Jesus, AMEN!
