No Voice Mail in Heaven

August 1, 2007

Have you ever been desperately trying to reach someone and you wind up getting their answering machine? That is so frustrating, especially if you are in a situation where you cannot just keep trying. It is worse when that person told you, “Hey, you can reach me 24/7.” Well, let me tell you right now, there is no one that can be there for you 24/7 except God. Jeremiah 33:3 says “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” (KJV) God cannot lie. He will answer whenever you call on Him. He did not say, “Do not call me after 10 P.M. Do not call me when I am eating. Do not call me at 6:30 A.M. I am watching the traffic report.” No, He says to call unto Him and He will answer!

Today I want to look at scripture that tells us that He will answer when we cry out to Him. Look at Psalm 34:4. “I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” (KJV) Psalm 31:21-22 says “Blessed be the Lord; for he hath shewed me his marvelous kindness in a strong city. For I said in my haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes; nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.” (KJV) It is so encouraging to know that God always hears our cry. We never get a busy signal with God. Here is a really wild scripture. Isaiah 65:24 says “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” (KJV) How is that for encouragement?

Sometimes it may seem as if God does not hear our prayer or as if He is not going to give us what we have petitioned. That is because the devil will always try to keep us from our answer. As long as we do not quit we shall have what we asked for. Look at Daniel 10:12-13. “Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel; for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come for thy words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days;…” (KJV) Daniel could have quit calling out to God at the end of the first day or anytime during those 21 days. He persevered. He would not quit. When the angel appeared to Daniel he told Daniel that he had started to come to him as soon as Daniel cried out the first time, but the prince of Persia (the devil) had detained him.

Whatever you are facing today, remember, if you have “called unto God” then you will see great and mighty things which you have not known. Don’t give up. The devil can only detain that angel for a limited time. So speak God’s word over your petition. “Thank you, Father, for those angels who are ministering spirits for me, for I am an heir of salvation. Now, In the Name of Jesus, I say angels go forth and fight on my behalf. Thank you, Father, for answered prayer. Thank you, Father, because angels are doing war in the heavens. In the Name of Jesus, Satan falls like lightning every time I use the Name of Jesus. Those angels are no longer hindered and I have my answer!” Glory be to God. Praise the Name of Jesus. He is so good to me all the time.

For further study read Heb. 1:14, Psalm 103:20-21 and Luke 10:17-18.
