Healing Made Simple

January 15 , 2006

Jesus told the disciples in Mark 16:18, “They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” (KJV)

Today I prayed for a man who was very sick (on his death bed), and now he is very well. Shortly after I prayed and laid hands on him the man went into convulsions. Oh, but it was too late for the devil to end his life. You see, I had taken a few minutes to explain the healing scriptures to him. He had listened intently, and he had believed and received. First, I asked him if he knew the Lord Jesus as the Savior of the world and if he had ever chosen to confess Him as Lord. He got a smile on his face and said, “Oh, yes, I accepted Him as my Lord a long time ago. I may not always show it, but I do believe on Him and I know that He is the only way I can get into Heaven.” I stopped him right there because I could see he was fixing to justify the cancer in him. Too many people cannot receive their healing because they explain to themselves how God is punishing them for not living right. I quickly took him to Acts 10:38. “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power; who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.” (KJV) I was able to show him that healing is good and that disease is a form of oppression from the devil, not God. Then I showed him John 3:17. “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.” (KJV) This man who was so sick with leukemia was able to see and “know” that God was not condemning him. He was able to see that it was the devil and not God trying to end his time here on earth.

When the convulsions started, I could see things did not look good with him. I laid hands on him again and the Holy Spirit commanded me to rebuke the spirit of death from this man. Do you know I almost lost that fight? Just for an instant I thought that if I mentioned death I would scare the wife. I almost turned loose of that miracle, then a righteous anger rose up in me. Loudly I said, “I rebuke you, you spirit of death. Leave this man now. Now GIT!!” Instantly the convulsions stopped. The man sat up straight again. A nurse had come in during the convulsions (his room was right across the hallway from the nurses station) and had run out to get a doctor. Now the doctor came into the room and they proceeded to question the man and check all his vital signs.

This man had been hospitalized for almost 10 weeks. I sat there and watched as the doctor and nurse checked him. Then the doctor said, “Well, you look fine now. Let’s watch you tonight and if no fever develops, you can go home tomorrow if you like.” Of course his answer was yes. His wife proceeded to make arrangements with the nurses to get him discharged the next day. Hey, I am talking about a man that was supposed to die in that room. I am talking about a man who had accepted death. Why would he think that way? He thought that it was God’s will for him to die. He thought God had given him leukemia. James 1:17 says “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” (KJV) Hebrews 13:8 says “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” (KJV) Our God is a very, very good God.

When Jesus walked the earth He did many, many miracles and He has not changed a bit. Only he lives in us, His Spirit is in us, in me, in you. My prayer today is that you get baptized with boldness to do His will on the earth. Come on now, dare to believe, then step out and “just do it”. You will find that you will never be put to shame, for God is faithful to perform His word. Let’s give all glory and praise to Jesus, for He is so Wonderful.
